Build a private NFL watchlist with matchups, bookmaker prices and source
timestamps in one spreadsheet. Apipheny lets you request and import it without writing a custom API
client and a free API.

In this tutorial we’ll look at how to go from blank sheet to useful app in a few steps.

What is ParlayAPI?

It’s a plain REST/JSON API with the key in a header, no OAuth which can be tricky. If you find OAuth elsewhere send us an email to the address listed at the bottom of this page and we’ll walk you through it.

This example starts with DraftKings NFL moneylines. You can later adapt the sport, bookmaker and market filters using ParlayAPI’s documentation and catalogs. Availability varies by the selected filters.

Step 1: Install Apipheny

If you haven’t already, install the Apipheny add-on from the Google Workspace Marketplace. Click Extensions > Add-ons > Get Add-ons, then search “Apipheny”

Apipheny extension in the Google Web Store

After installation:

  1. Open Google Sheets.

  2. Click Extensions > Apipheny > Import API.

  3. The Apipheny sidebar will open on the right side of your spreadsheet.

Step 2: Get your API token

Create or sign in to your own ParlayAPI account and get your API key from the dashboard. In Apipheny’s Headers section, add:

Key: X-API-KEY
Value: YOUR_PARLAY_API_KEY

Replace the placeholder with your own key. Keep the key out of public sheets, screenshots and shared request URLs. Current account options are at: https://parlay-api.com/pricing

Step 3: Import NFL moneylines

Select GET and paste this into API URL Path:

https://parlay-api.com/v1/sports/americanfootball_nfl/odds?regions=us&markets=h2h&bookmakers=draftkings&oddsFormat=decimal

Leave the request body empty and click Run. The filters select NFL, DraftKings and the h2h moneyline market, with prices expressed as decimal odds.

Each event includes its teams and scheduled start, followed by bookmakers, markets and outcomes. Useful fields for your watchlist are: home_team, away_team, commence_time, the bookmaker key, market key, outcome name, price and source last_update

Keep each outcome attached to its event and bookmaker when choosing or arranging columns. If your Apipheny plan includes Response Viewer, Preview can help inspect these nested fields. Worth keeping in mind from their terms of service this workflow is for personal or internal research. Public odds redisplay and data redistribution rights are not included.

Step 4: Save Your API Request

Once you have a request working correctly, you can save it for future use.

In Apipheny:

  1. Click Save Request.

  2. Give the request a name.

  3. Click Save.

Saved requests can be rerun at any time without re-entering the URL.

There you go, easy football data into Google Sheets.
