Supermetrics has tried to solve the issue of reporting on marketing campaigns, but sometimes you can’t help but wonder – does a more affordable alternative to Supermetrics exist?
No doubt Supermetrics is a fair cost if you’re a larger agency, but if you’re just running a couple of accounts or an individual user, a lot of the features you’re paying for can quickly go to waste. Luckily, it’s possible to create your marketing reports for a fraction of the cost.
Here are the best and cheapest Supermetrics alternatives to take a look at, starting with the best.
Drumroll please…the best alternative to Supermetrics is Power My Analytics.
Power My Analytics is a reporting automation tool that lets you easily connect your dashboards, reports, & sheets.
By giving you reliable connections for your data sources and metrics, PMA lets you save time by skipping all the tedious logins & manual data collection.
Instead, it gives you access to a universal data hub from which you can control all of your data sources and metrics at once. It also saves you a ton of money on custom development costs by giving you a ready-to-use solution.
With Power My Analytics, you can connect your data sources such as Facebook and HubSpot to your favorite data destinations, like Google Sheets, Google Data Studio, Google Analytics, and even Excel — much like Supermetrics.
The 2 services have similar capabilities but Power My Analytics has a more forgiving pricing plan, making it an ideal tool for smaller teams as well as individuals.
Power My Analytics also has the benefit of using a “data warehouse” model, where they store your data on their server before transferring it into your data destination. This means that, if either your data source or destination ever go down, you don’t lose your data.
DataSlayer allows users to create custom dashboards with ads, social, SEO, and other types of data sources. Their reporting tool gathers all the data you need using APIs and makes it easier and faster for users to create reports.
They have 4 different products to choose from:
DataSlayer has over 40 data connectors/sources to choose from including Google Ads, Facebook, Google Analytics, Google DV360, Google Search Console, and more.
With regards to pricing, Dataslayer claims to be between 22% and 85% cheaper than Supermetrics, depending on the plan you choose.
Supermetrics allows only 1 user per account, whereas Dataslayer allows unlimited users per account.
Apipheny is a Google Sheets add-on that can be used as an alternative to or in addition to Supermetrics for Google Sheets.
Apipheny makes it easy to use any JSON or CSV API in Google Sheets. If copy-pasting data into Google Sheets is a normal part of your workday, you should know that you can automate that process by connecting your data source with Google Sheets through the use of APIs.
While Supermetrics’ collection of 60+ data source connectors is impressive and is usually enough for most businesses, it doesn’t allow for much freedom — some people just need more data sources to work with. If those data sources aren’t popular enough for Supermetrics, they don’t integrate into their app.
Apipheny solves this problem by letting users connect to any data source’s API — allowing users to connect to a virtually infinite number of data sources, versus just 60. In addition to letting you import data from your data source (GET request), you can also send data over (POST request) and even automate the process.
All these things combined empower you to do more from your Google spreadsheet. It also costs next to nothing, which makes it an amazing choice for professionals looking to cut costs while maintaining quality.
Whatagraph is a tool for performance monitoring and reporting used by marketing professionals to visualize data and build tailored cross-channel reports.
Whatagraph’s platform integrates seamlessly with various marketing channels, which means you can do a ton of your work interacting with data from just one interface. There are multiple templates to choose from to make your reports. The reports are clean and visually pleasing, which will make it easier to communicate the data to the people who need to see it.
New features such as live reporting help you track campaign performance in real time, so you can make adjustments quickly and keep your clients on top 100% of the time.
If you prefer to use Microsoft Excel for web analytics, SEO, PPC or email marketing reports, then you’ll love Analytics Edge. It’s an Excel add-on that has connectors for popular services like Google Analytics, Facebook Ads and others.
A lot of people prefer Excel over Google Sheets because of its sheer superiority in power and performance. If you’re one of those people, then Analytics Edge is perfect for you. Mike Sullivan, the guy who created Analytics Edge, also happens to be a great guy who participates a lot in analytics communities.
Although the uniqueness of being an Microsoft Excel add-on has its perks, the drawback is the limitations of their free version. Like others, it only connects to Google Analytics for free. The other integrations that are available you have to buy a la carte. So while it supports multiple accounts from multiple sources, you may be paying upwards of $60/month, depending on the amount of connectors you want.
Klipfolio is a business dashboard & analytics software made to automate the monitoring, exploration and sharing of your metrics and KPIs. While it isn’t an app connector like the rest of the examples in this list, it is still a strong contender. If you only use Google Sheets for reporting and data visualization anyway, Klipfolio can help you work better.
Klipfolio allows for a ton of customizability — however, there is a steep learning curve, especially for people who aren’t as well-oriented with Excel or Google Sheets. But if you’re trained in either, it is a very powerful tool for data visualization.
Overall, Klipfolio is a good platform if you have the patience or are doing reports at an agency. Klipfolio offers a 14-day free trial and starts at $49/month for individuals.
Ad Stage is a PPC automation and optimization software that lets you view, analyze, and act on your paid advertising data across a variety of platforms. You can use the standalone application or the Google Sheets add-on to pull data straight to Google Sheets.
Since their speciality is paid advertising, they have a feature that lets you set campaign monitoring & optimization rules. Overall, it’s a powerful marketing analytics software that you should consider if your business (or your client’s) relies heavily on PPC.
Their strongest fit is reporting on social media. So if you do ad management only for search and paid social, this may be a product to consider. Ad Stage has an API connector, but it’s only limited to major advertising platforms such as Facebook and Google Ads. They have a 30-day free trial, and their packages start at $119/month after, depending on ad spend.
Supermetrics has several products, including a Google Sheets add-on that turns your spreadsheet into a business reporting system for web analytics, social media and online marketing.
Supermetrics also has a product line for Excel and Google Data Studio that you can use for reporting. Each of these product lines have different features.
Supermetrics can let you do the following things:
It can do a lot more, too, which makes it an amazing tool, as long as you’re a large enterprise with complex team compositions and roles — and a big enough budget.
For a lot of people, it’s just too expensive.

The pricing for Supermetrics for Google Sheets starts at $47/data source/month but they change their pricing sometimes. Click here to see the latest pricing for Supermetrics.
It does have a free version, but that only allows you to connect Sheets to Google Analytics, which means it’s not worth it at all. Google has already made it possible to connect Google Sheets to Google Analytics via their official add-on.
Another problem with the pricing of Supermetrics is that, even if you only want to use just a few of its features, you still have to pay the full price.
All the features are bundled together. It doesn’t matter if you only want to use Supermetrics for just the custom JSON/CSV connector — you need to pay full price.
You see, as flexible and effective Supermetrics is, the plethora of features it has is often too much for the little guy. Unless you’re a massive company that can make use of all the features, you’re throwing away a TON of money each time you pay for the subscription.
It’d be like buying a smartphone and only ever using it for calls and texts — you’d be better off with something cheaper and more appropriate for the things you need to get done.
And, truth be told, there are a ton of cheaper Supermetrics alternatives that you can choose from.
Unfortunately, a completely free add-on that works like Supermetrics — doesn’t exist yet. If you want one that’s free, you’ll have to DIY it via Google Apps Script. Your best bet right now is to learn how to code one or have someone build it for you. Otherwise, we recommend trying out some of the affordablealternatives we listed above.
Supermetrics is amazing. It can let you do so many things and can give your business the potential to grow so much — as long as you know how to use it correctly and you have a team that can take advantage of its benefits.
Unfortunately, not everyone has the budget, the time, or the specific needs to take advantage of something as grand as Supermetrics. For the lone freelancer and the budding startup, Supermetrics is just too much.
You can get away with just using much cheaper alternatives to Supermetrics — and you don’t even have to compromise your work processes.
Products like Apipheny don’t completely replace Supermetrics. In fact, in certain use cases, some of them just won’t cut it. But for someone with specific, less demanding needs — products like Apipheny just make things easier.
As a data analyst, I cut Supermetrics out a long time ago. I had the skills and knowledge to make my own add-on that is not only more customizable, but is also more affordable.
And I’m sharing that with you today.
Apipheny is a “happy medium” between sparing software costs and a developer to maintain integrations. The more time you spend reporting data, the less time you spend actually doing the work you need to do.
So don’t let pricing eat into your margins, try the Apipheny Google Sheets add-on in the Google Marketplace today.
